We had our second-to-last Greek Language and Culture class today. The semester is flying by! We reviewed for the final and I have some studying to do. I’ll include a picture of the Greek phrases we learned this past month.
For History class, we went to the Acropolis today. Our teacher taught us about the different buildings on the Acropolis so, it was like we had our own personal tour guide to the sight. I love learning on-site. The Parthenon is grand and it’s amazing what the ancient Greek built! We will see the sculptures of the Parthenon in the newly opened Acropolis Museum next Wednesday for Art History.
We left for Crete tonight! Crete is the southern most Greek island and it is also the largest. We took a night ferry that left at 9:00, so at about 7:00, we left Athens and made our way to Piraeus Port. This ship was huge! There were fancy dinning rooms and lounges, a disco bar, a little church, cabins, and even a small pool! We were supposed to have cabins, but something happened and we ended up with some crummy seats in a smelly room. At least it wasn’t crowded, so we found space on the floor in the aisles to lay down a towel and attempt to get some sleep.
